Tarita Benson Davis is a
1985 graduate of Jackson
State University where
she received her
Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting. A
native of Jackson,
Mississippi, the former
JSU cheerleader and 2nd
alternate to Miss JSU is
currently the Americas
Regional Credit Manager
for Shell Chemical
Corporation. Tarita has
worked in various
accounting / finance
functions at Shell for
over 26 years. Her
background includes
management and
leadership roles within
Downstream, Treasury,
Auditing, Retirement
Funds, Planning and
Appraisal, and Accounts
Payable. She also has
extensive experience in
various
finance/accounting
operations. Tarita is a
Certified International
Credit Professional, (CICP)
and a member of the
Finance, Credit and
International Business
Association (FCIB). She
is a founding partner
and chief financial
officer of PR Healthcare
Management Services,
LLC.
Tarita is actively
involved in the Shell
Black Networking Group (SBNG)
where she serves on the
board as advisor of the
Community/Social
Investment Committee.
She also has served as a
recruiter on behalf of
Shell Oil Company at
Jackson State
University, Prairie View
A&M University and the
University of Michigan
where she was
instrumental in
recruiting qualified
students for employment
in the areas of
accounting, finance,
business and
engineering.
Because of her service
and leadership in many
organizations and
committees throughout
her career, Tarita has
received numerous awards
and recognition. She is
a life member of the JSU
National Alumni
Association, Inc.,
(JSUNAA) and will be
inducted into the
President's Club this
fall at Jackson State
University. She has
served and held numerous
positions both locally
and nationally, within
the JSUNAA. She is
currently in her second
term as the JSUNAA
Southwest Regional Vice
President. Tarita is
also a proud life member
of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc., a
community service
organization committed
to public service.
Tarita and her husband,
Dr. Dyrren D.
Davis, reside in
Houston, Texas.
